As Evolve is set to release our 2023/24 Impact Report this summer, we are excited to share the outcomes of our mentoring programmes across the country. 

How do we measure impact?

We use the Wellbeing Compass (WBC), our bespoke impact measuring tool, to track the wellbeing progress of the pupils in every school that we work with. We do this with a survey which is taken by all students in our schools, at 4 points over the year, which comprises 24 questions relating to the following key contributors to health and wellbeing:

• Sleep
• Diet
• Physical Activity
• Emotional Wellbeing
• Personal Development
• Self Efficacy

We also use the Classroom Climate survey, completed by teachers, which is based on classroom dynamics and tracks performance indicators such as behaviour, concentration, and engagement.

This system helps us to identify students who need extra support and tracks the impact that our interventions have throughout the school year..

To ensure the accuracy and reliability of our impact statistics, the data collected from our mentees has been independently evaluated by organisations such as UCL’s Institute of Education, the Centre for Education and Youth, Simetrica, and Leeds Beckett University.

What to expect in the Impact Report

In the report you can find out how Evolve is closing the wellbeing gap. This gap represents the difference in wellbeing scores between mentees, shadow beneficiaries and their wider cohorts within a school. A successful mentoring programme should see this gap decrease over the year.

You will also be able to take a closer look at our regional impact in London, the West Midlands, and Wales. Additionally, find out more about our new identification and impact measurement system for next year, the Evolve Development Tracker, and how we are looking to improve our services going forward.
